This well done film I found to be quite well written as well as I found the performers thamselves had done an extremely great job to be able to put this film to be quite successful as well had everyone wanting to know the beginning to the end to be able to understand the whole logic and message through. This is to me very important when watching a film This film had given me an impression and ideas to be able to get your own life to do things in the right way and learn from your own mistakes. It was slow moving if I say so but the important thing that the message is very clear when you are watching this film.

The worst movie even Edward Norton couldn't save it. I'm serious don't waste your time, it is awful. If I could prevent one person from wasting their time, then I have done enough.

Based upon a book by David Benioff, the 25th hour is metaphorically the second chance that you may or may not get. Monty, the main actor, has one more day 24 hours. The question is does he have a 25th? When he goes away, can he ever come home? The story is about the importance of doing things right the first time because you may not get a second chance. It shows you what you can have…but likely may not. It speaks to who and what America is..

This is one of my all time favriotes. It has excellent acting, especially from Norton and Berry, and excellect direction from Lee. Some say the movie is 'slow' but I think it is perfectly paced. It held my intrest the entire time, and I was completely captivated because of the dialoge which is some of the best this side of Pulp Fiction (this movie is better then PF btw) The movie has great techincal glory as well. Superb use of the camara, sounds, images. Awesome editing as well. Anyways don't listen to the others around hear who give it like 3 stars. This movie is powerful (the ending with the three of them was very very... almost disturbing without giving it away), and the score was amazingly effective. Rent it now.

I enjoyed the filming in NY City, the way the different ethnic groups were highlighted. Shows a true representation of a multicultural city. Great story line, emotions run high on the night before imprisonment. I like the way all the characters were brought to life, great job by Spike Lee. I will recommend it!

If to chose if it's good or bad - it's more good, but little bit boring, they could add more action in the movie.

25th Hour was one of the bes movies I've have seen in a long while. Edward Norton's roll in that movie was great. He had a way about him that just made him the man and only Edward Norton knows how to really bring that out.

Loved this movie. For once Spike Lee didn't go overboard with the flasy pyrotechnic camera techniques but let the story unfold. Great depiction of an unsympathetic character who has made some foul choices in life and gets time to reconsider by Barry Pepper. Terrific cast.

This is an excellent movie for several reasons, the story is based in real facts, the photography is great and the principal actor really combine in a perfect production. I highly reccomend it.

Lol I just read GRYSPNIK@'s review... do you know what acting is? Acting was great in this movie, if you want to pick at something, pick at the length or maybe the story, not the acting. ED is awesome. That should shut you up.

Unbelievable, the scene in the bathroom is worth the price of admission alone. Spike Lee's brilliance as a filmmaker really shows in this story. Edward Norton shines as does the rest of the cast, definitely overlooked when it came to the award season.

Okay, this movie didn't quite meet my expectations, but only because I thought it would be extremely good. It was a little slow at parts (the beginning and end specifically) , but overall it wasn't a bad movie. I just expected it to be a little faster paced, that's all. I liked all the scenes that had a lot of intensity in them. The club scenes, the fight, the cop scenes, Ed Norton shouting in the bathroom, etc. The fat russian dude was funny too. I really disliked all the scenes involving the dad. They were way too boring and drawn out. The very end was also way too drawn out and it was so patriotic towards america I almost puked. It also seemed like there were a few unecessary scenes that really slowed the movie down. But a decent movie as a whole. Although, if you are a person who doesn't like the rising cinema prices you may want to just rent it. I guess I was just expecting a slightly different type of plot then waht I got.

OK here it is. Honestly this movie is not "awesome". Edward Norton is fantastic as always. His little rant is surely a memorable movie moment. He doesn't always seem to get the respect he deserves, but this part was worthy of Oscar mention, if nothing else. Barry Pepper was also great in his supporting role. The story itself is just a tad weak but is saved by the awesome performances of the lead men. It is definitely worth seeing.

Excellent movie. I can't quite put my finger on the reason I liked this movie, but it had that certain atmosphere to it, that constant awaiting of something to happen. Cast was really good, (Hoffman is always crazy!!) and cinematography really really interesting!!! Go see it and don't mind the action thrill explosions seeking fools that gave this movie a 2 or a 3.

I enjoyed this movie's raw nature, authenticity, and its criticism of society. Spike Lee's superb directorial performance brings the characters to life and along with exceleltn acting it makes for a picture that is entertaining, stimulating, and provocative.

Being an idiot I didn't read all of your critques of this film before I subjected myself to it. The only reason I didn't just pick up and leave was that I felt that maybe, just maybe there would be a moment where somthing trascendental would happen. The only thing I liked was the "F**k the World" monologue in the middle. The joke is that is how I felt at the end of this film. [...]

I saw the movie yesterday and frankly it was a huge disappointment. I chose to see it because it was directed by Spike Lee, but the movie was so slow, so unhappening, even at the emotional reflectional levels, still no deep thoughts really. Yet, the worse was to come at the end where Monti's father starts a 10 minutes speech, at that level (and after 2hrs) I decided to stand up and leave. The speech was like another movie being read to you all of a sudden! The overall sublte point of the movie, if there is any, is that a white Irish American guy does not belong to the world of drugs and prisons... it is presented as if it is an anomoly for a white American guy to be involved, immigrants however were projected as the 'natural' part of the crime and drug scene.

I am very surprise of the difference of opinion. This is a great movie. Ed Norton give us another masterpiece performance. The "Fxxxx" the world monologue is a Bobby deNiro type of acting in Taxi Driver. Barry Pepper is very Good and Hoffman Seymour another great supporting actor performance. The best part of this movie is the music... Cymande, Terrance Blanchard and "Da BOSS" Springsteen gave one of the best soundtrack in a long time. I am not a Spike Lee fan but this movie raise the "Fever" for Spike.

Not bad. It seems kinda slow to get going at first, but then the movie develops an interesting character struggle, each character with their own problems, being involved in the main character's (Ed Norton) last night before he goes to jail, their own internal struggles are well portrayed. I also liked Spike Lee's way of filming New York, this is probably the first movie since September 11 that actually directly shows a view on the once-WTC from an apartment, with the characters speaking about it. Also, in the scene where Ed Norton talks to his reflection in a mirror, SCARY in its truth the way to see all the different people and ethnicities that make up NY. Spike Lee's skill comes out.

I have seen thousand's of movies and this is by far the #1 of all times. Those of you who wrote bad comments about this should really go see it again and understand everything, because it is so powerful... It really got me thinking. If I would deal the same way he did in the same situation. He did something very very strong troughout this movie and I was very impressed. Props to this movie, best of the year.

I saw the "25th Hour" but I didn't like it so much. It's not worth to see it, the story is just explaining about one guy is going to jail within 25th hour (Norton) because he was selling dopes and he got caught.

I found this movie very boring, and gay. I am a Spike Lee fan, but this was simply a long, dull and boring movie. Although the cast is great the NY patriotism took up most of the time which made it dull.

If you just left the good parts of this movie in it would be all of ten minutes long, including the five minutes of credits. Norton has to carry a movie that has a weak script and poor directing, and to his credit he almost did. For such an accomplished director this movie is an embarrassment. Several scenes have weak acting, trying to provide back stories for these paper thin characters, leaving the audience wondering why they aren't just reading the screenplay. The "performances" (if you can call them that) in some scenes are even bellow what you would expect from a "B" college film. Even if you ignore the lame ending and unexplained turn of events, it is still a sub-par movie. This movie is not just one cliche after another, it is one cliche from bad movies afer another. If the acting was a little better this movie could almost pass off as satire. If you really need an Ed Norton fix, then maybe see this movie. But if you actually expect to see anything of remote quality or entertainment value I suggest you look somewhere else. Might I suggest "Talk to Her"?
