I must admit disappointment. I thought David Lynch and Werner Herzog could be a great combination. But no. The acting was good, the directing credible and the soundtrack enjoyable. The story was non-existant. Also at one point I thought it was supposed to be a comedy. Yes it was a character study but even with character studies you have to engage the audience - nothing about it gripped me - I was in a state of non-gripness for over 90 minutes. There was no reason to care about any of the characters - they all seemed ridiculous - maybe that was the point? The whole thing was directionless and if I want to watch a movie about the descent into insanity I will rely on Roman Polanski's Repulsion which is far superior.
