This movie was awesome I have watched it about 4 time in the last 3 days. I was really intreaged my this movie and I walked in the room the frist time I saw it, and my mom was walching it. It was SO funny as I walked in. I heared as much as the mother did. Lol. Well anyways, I enjoyed the movie a lot and the story line was awesome considering it was based on a true story. Drew Barrymore was a really great actress in this movie she played a 16 year old girl (at the party which was 10 years then she really is) and then she played the young mother and about her own age and she played the older mother which is 10 years older then she really is. So considering she played a character 10 years older and 10 years younger she was really good in this movie. She also spent a lot of time with the acctual person she played (and the movie was based on) (this is in the special features you always have to watch) she was so pretty for about 7 months and she said that she had a hard time getting back to her own life. That is how her character was. I also would like to mention about the son, he was really good expessialy for his age. I loved him. And theres Britteny Murphy, she was also very good in the movie. The father was also another person that had to put up with a lot in the movie, the begining, the middel and the end was though. There is something in the special features that they had to build the house that Bev and Ray (Drew and James) lived in, and the rest of the neibourhood, the producers could not find the perfect area to shoot the flim, so they built a perfect area to shoot the flim. I would like to give all the acters and actresses an around of applause for the great movie they made better with there acting. And we can not forget the producers and everyone who made this movie if it was hot for them there would be no movie. I love the whole thing, the only thing was that it was a bit confuseing with the way the sceans swiched but once you get into it you understand, other wise the movie is the best movie I have seen in a long time thank you for a great proformanc. :)

I loved the movie, and with it being a true story, that made the movie much more enjoyable to watch, I have now rented it 5 times, and now thinking mabye I should just buy it, as it is getting kind of expensive!!! I know I will be watching it again, with all the same laughters and tears!!! Awesome!!!

Riding In Cars With Boys was most enjoyable. I found it to be both witty and touching. To watch a girl go from her parents home (trying to met your parent's expectations and be yourself) to a husband's home (trying to be repsonsible and pleasing, not only to your family but your husband and child as well) is all too familiar, although I did not have a child and my husband happens to be decent. :) It shows the difficulties of young motherhood and trying to hold on to your dreams as you try to fulfill what you think are the dreams of your child. Drew plays her role well and I give it 4 stars! A great drama to share with someone.

I found this movie to be excellent as it had a great story line... it was all about our relationships with our parents and how they can impact in both negative and positive ways... it was great!!! The first thing I did when I came home was told my 13-year-old son that I loved him and that I believed in him (which I have neglected to do for awhile). I think if you have children of your own you'll especially appreciate this movie...

I felt that this movie was one of the most depressing movies I have ever seen, considering the preview made it look funny. I was so depressed after seeing this movie I could not believe it. It was a good story and showed how life can have very different roads. A good movie as long as you're not expecting to laugh throughout it.

Frankly, I thought Drew Barrymore was better in E. T. than this, not to say she isn't a good actress, but this seems really, well, mailed in or something. James Woods was great, as always and Lorraine Bracco just fills the screen with her presence. Brittany Murphy was the runaway fav for me, she is a very young, growing talent that I bet we'll be seeing more and more of. Steve Kahn is better in comedies like Saving Silverman and Happy, Texas. This movie was disappointing because they went for the obvious, it's a great story, but I didn't feel for the character, she just seemed spoiled instead of challenged. Ummm, come to think of it, Barrymore did bring a lot to the role.

I'm not a big fan of Drew's, but it was one of her best. I really enjoyed the movie, and I think being based on a true story, it really helped. It shows that life will throw you some unexpected twists, and that it doesn't always go as planned. But, if you have goals, and work hard enough to get them, they may happen.

If you watch a movie according to the ratings alone, then you'd be missing out on a lot of very good movies out there. One of them is Riding in Cars with Boys. This movie is mature, poignant, relatively devoid of gratuitous swearing and sex, and evocative through good acting, script writing, and storyline developement. It's an Oscar calibre movie hidden behind a mid-income story plot. It's directed by that great comic talent, Penny Marshall of the sitcom fame, Lavern and Shirley. So it's no surprise that it's a "teaching" movie especially if you are predisposed to self-developement and observation. The morals of the movie are twofold. The first is that one can mess up their lives for years with a few wrong decisions. The second is that dreams don't necessarily have to be put away in the closet forever. If you can learn one good thing from a movie that you can use for the improvement of your life, then that movie is worth seeing. This movie has at least two of them. Rating: 9/10

The acting in the movie was great. It's about a young girl who gets pregnant, so those who gave it low ratings due to disappointment, what did you expect from a movie based on such a storyline? Those who said she was a bitch... well I guess you can't empathize what being in that position could be like. It might not have been pleasant at times, but it's a true story after all.

What made this movie an 8 instead of a 7 was how realistic the plot of the story was... Most of us have dreams but life always tends to get in the way of them. I think most people can relate to at least one character in this movie.

The theatre should have paid me to sit through this epic waste of time. I thought Drew Berrymore's best film was E. T. Until I found out that she was actually the little girl and not the alien... She is over-used and over-rated in both her intelligence and acting abilitites. Now for the movie. IT blew. Hard. I figured I'd get a drink during one of her whining episodes, came back five minutes later - whining about something else. Bad plot. Bad acting. Bad movie. Save your money and time. Don't see it. I'm giving it a "1" only because "0" isn't an option.

What a wonderfully touching and romantic film, with a touch of laughter and a splash of style. And to top it all off, Drew gave the performance of a life time! Definitely oscar-worthy! Good fo any ages, even me, 108 years of age! Go see it today with your family, and you will get a tear, a laugh and a sense of belonging!!

Although Drew Barrymore and Steve Zahn give fine performances, I found this movie ultimately disappointing. The story is weaker than weak, and it's impossible to feel sympathy for these characters; a selfish bitch and her stupid, irresponsible husband. So what if the fool gets knocked up in high school. This is supposed to make her special? I got so sick of Drew's character whining about her poor life! And what about Beverly D'Onofrio, who's life this is really based on. Does she really think that she's some kind of role model? I thought she came across as the world's worst mother, an ungrateful daughter, a shrew of a wife and an all-round [...]. A truly unpleasant character who seemed to deserve every bad thing that happened to her. Don't trust the previews, and don't waste your time on this movie.

You want my opinion? This movie should have been called "Riding the stupid train with dumb idiots. " This movie was line after line nonsense with a plot I could easily use [and probably have already] to wipe my ass. Someone left 'pointless' out. So I shall ask you, Who let pointless out? Who who who who! Who let pointless out? Who who who who! Drew Barrymore was darling, however it astonishes me how she could be so loverly in Charlies Angels and then be so horrible hideous in this movie. Hey! Did someone smack Drew with an ugly stick? Or was it an ugly bat? Or perhaps an ugly tennis racket? Sheesh! HOWEVER, I shall state this: If you like cars, and you like boys, and you like to ride, whether it be a horse or the bus, you might just enjoy this cinema screen play. But if you trust me, you'll stay at least 20 feet away from this stank-fest. I'll tell you what I DID enjoy though... that popcorn. Fresh buttered popped kernels, oooh. Send me an angel, la la la la! Popcorn city! If you check out this movie, my name aint JENNIFER LEIGH PERZOW. and... CUT!

The movie is good. Drew did such a good job in it. The charater is very realistic. Anyway, it's quite different from the way I expected. I thought Beverly finally changed her life and got what she wanted from life, but in the movie she actually ruined her life--that's something I don't like because it's sad.
