Wonderful, the characterization and the atmposphere is so rich. The experimental film techniques were interesting although not always successful. Overall in general Wayne Wang accomplished an amazing job, very different compared to his usual hollywood work like "maid in manhattan"... I really, really enjoyed it but if you are just looking for hot sex scenes, this isn't the movie for you.

I thought the movie was right on the money. I’ve met people like the male and female leads portrayed in this movie: genius but immature computer whiz, hurt and insulated sex trade worker. I felt for both their plights. The movie thoroughly held my attention – rough edges and all. It’s not a perfect movie, but then, it’s not a Harlequin romance either.

Pheww... :oO this is a real stinker! The worst movie we've seen since 'Space CowBoys'. Don't bother going for the sex sceens as they are little more than a bit of sexy dancing except for the lolly pop sceen that was funny. The story is terrible and seldon explored or explained by even the characters. Clichéd at every pointless point possible and then ends with a happy ending, yes a happy ending? Well at least for the audience. This film deserves a big fat zero and not the default of one.

This is an amazing movie! I can only think that people who are referring to it as "the worst movie ever" went to the theatre expecting something entirely different or don't realize that sometimes you have to actually think while you watch. This is a movie the major studios would never have the guts to make. It deals with sexuality and human relationships in a sophisticated and adult manner. It is incredibly erotic but not in a gratuitous way. Molly Parker and Peter Sarsgaard are remarkable. Highly recommended!

Many people may not understand this movie. I found it to be very insightful and representative and realistic, and it was different than your typical Hollywood blockbuster (which is one of the things I liked about it).

Very disappointing. Initially the movie promised an artistic representation of a relationship between two unusual people. However, soon it all boiled down to a soft porn, which continued for the full two hours. Zero plot, just lots of striptease and sex. At least a group of guys in the front row seemed to like it...

This movie sucked. No atmosphere at ALL!!! This is filmed like a documetary; it has no life. This is more of a theatre piece than a movie. I at least wanted to see the naked chicks (cause it's 18+) and it didn't even have that!!! (except for the hmmmmm... lollipop scene at the beginning). Don't waste your money.

This one makes "Josie and the Pussycats" look like "Lawrence of Arabia" No story. Not even remotely believable plot points... the best lines of the movie came from the audience... who were mocking the film as we watched. And you'd think they would use at least somewhat good looking actors... PLEASE. The guy looks like an unwashed 5th grader... (with all due respect and apologies to 5th grade slobs)... and Molly Parker. Take "Plain Jane" and imagine what she would look like if she raced Karen Carpenter on a weight loss program (Calista Flockhart thinks she's too thin!) while her face looks like the before picture in a Clearasil ad. No, I think Lava rock is less pock marked. UGLY. And breasts? How about "peas on plywood". Put that together in a story that is supposed to be about a computer nerd that takes a hooker to Las Vegas... Yeah, oh sure... THIS GUY is a dot-com billionaire genius, huh? It was SO BAD, I was waiting for the "National Film Board of Canada" logo at the end. Probably got a government grant for it - kind of bad. But nooo. This was filmed in Hollywood. I didn't think any Americans could write that badly. Not even Stallone. Hell, "Superman IV: The Quest For Peace" was easier to watch. It truly gives meaning to the phrase "BOMB! Not if they paid you! " Or, if you're feeling particularly masochistic, go see what I mean. Don't say I didn't warn you.

Very original movie. A very fresh, new and interesting topic which gets you intrigued from the very begining of the movie. The actors are custom made for this very sensual movie and the director does an excellent job to really capture the mood of the moment. I definitely recommend this movie for anybody who's tired of seeing the same types of movies over and over again!

I did see The Center of the World and it is nothing else than a really good movie. It is a battle between feelings, loyalty, selfesteem, pride and self indulgement. The two main characters were totally strong in their play. The only thing I don't really like about all this movie is about all the posters where we only see Carla Gucino who we only see for something like 5 minutes during the movie. Except that it's a very good movie and... . OOHHHHHH MY GOOOOODDDD MOLLY PARKER IS SO BEAUTIFUL... .
